Oskar Kowalewski, PhD

Oskar Kowalewski is Research Associate Professor at the University Vistula. He received his habilitation in Finance from the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). He holds an PhD and MS degree from the Kozminski University in Warsaw and LLM degree from the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. In the past his primary research concentrated on financial system development, banking and corporate governance. In the current project he will employ his knowledge to solve the food crisis puzzle, which contribute to significant social problems in the developing countries.

Piotr Śpiewanowski, PhD

Graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics and European University Institute in Florence. In his PhD thesis he analysed the impact of information transmission between voters in different countries on the elected politicians’ quality and pandering probability. Having left the sunny Tuscany he turned his research interests into more grave topics such as the causes of food crises pursued at the Polish Academy of Sciences and Vistula University. In the current project he will analyse the determinants of commodity prices and explore the political economy considerations of international anti-cartel regulations.

Hinnerk Gnutzmann, PhD

Hinnerk Gnutzmann is a Researcher at the Leibniz University of Hannover, working in industrial organization and international economics. He read Economics at the University of Cambridge and holds an MPhil from Utrecht University, and received his PhD from the European University Institute in 2013. Before moving to Hannover, Hinnerk was a postdoctoral researcher at the Catholic University of Milan.
